1. Accessing Pabbly Connect for Integration
To start integrating Google Drive with OpenAI and Google Sheets, first access Pabbly Connect. Navigate to the Pabbly homepage and log into your account.
Once logged in, select Pabbly Connect from the dashboard. You will then see the option to create a new workflow. This is where the integration process will begin.
2. Creating a New Workflow in Pabbly Connect
In this step, you will create a new workflow in Pabbly Connect. Click on the “Create Workflow” button and name your workflow, for example, “Product Image to AI Generated Description”.
- Select the trigger application, which will be Google Drive.
- Choose the trigger event as “New File in Specific Folder”.
- Connect your Google Drive account to Pabbly Connect.
After connecting, select the folder where the product images will be uploaded. This sets up the initial trigger for your workflow.
3. Setting Up the Trigger in Pabbly Connect
Now that you have created the workflow, it’s time to set up the trigger in Pabbly Connect. The trigger will activate whenever a new image is uploaded to the specified Google Drive folder.
Make sure to test the trigger by uploading a sample image. You will need to set the sharing settings of the image to allow access. This can be done by right-clicking the image, selecting “Share”, and changing the access to “Anyone with the link”.
4. Integrating OpenAI for Description Generation
After setting the trigger, you will add an action step to use OpenAI. In Pabbly Connect, select OpenAI as the action application and choose the action event as “Extract Content from PDF”.
- Input the API key from your OpenAI account.
- Map the image URL from Google Drive to the OpenAI action.
- Provide a prompt for the AI to generate a product description.
Once you have mapped the required fields, save the action and test it to ensure that OpenAI generates a description based on the uploaded image.
5. Adding Generated Descriptions to Google Sheets
The final step in this integration process is to save the generated product description into Google Sheets using Pabbly Connect. Select Google Sheets as the next action application.
Choose the event as “Add New Row” and connect your Google Sheets account. Select the specific spreadsheet and map the fields to include the image URL and the generated description from OpenAI. After mapping, save and test this action.
Once completed, every time a new image is uploaded to Google Drive, Pabbly Connect will automatically generate a product description using OpenAI and add it to your Google Sheets.
Conclusion
This tutorial demonstrated how to integrate Google Drive, OpenAI, and Google Sheets using Pabbly Connect. By following these steps, you can automate the process of generating product descriptions efficiently.
