1. Accessing Pabbly Connect for Integration

To start integrating Shopify with SMS notifications, first access Pabbly Connect by visiting pbly.com/connect. This platform allows seamless automation without any coding required.

After reaching the landing page, click on the Sign up for free button to create your account. This will grant you access to a free trial where you can send up to 100 SMS messages for free.

2. Setting Up Shopify Trigger in Pabbly Connect

Once logged into Pabbly Connect, navigate to the workflow builder. Here, you will need to add a trigger for Shopify. Click on the Add Trigger button and select Shopify as the application.

Choose Shopify V2 as the version.
Select the event New Order.
Click on Connect to generate a webhook URL.

Copy the generated webhook URL and proceed to your Shopify store settings. This URL will be used to receive order notifications.

3. Configuring Shopify Webhook for Order Creation

In your Shopify store, go to the Settings menu and select Notifications. Here, locate the Webhooks section and click on Create Webhook.

Select Order Creation as the event.
Set the format to JSON.
Paste the copied webhook URL into the URL field.
Choose Latest for the API version.

Finally, click on Save. This will link your Shopify store to Pabbly Connect, allowing it to capture order details.

4. Testing the Integration with Pabbly Connect

After setting up the webhook, return to Pabbly Connect and check for a waiting status for the webhook response. To test this, place a test order in your Shopify store.

When the order is placed, Pabbly Connect will capture the order details, confirming that the integration is working correctly. You’ll see a message indicating that the webhook has received the order data.

5. Sending SMS Notifications via Pabbly Connect

Now that the integration is set up, you can send SMS notifications using Pabbly Connect. Add an action step by clicking on Add Action and select Twilio as the application for sending SMS.

Configure the SMS by entering the sender’s number (from Twilio) and the recipient’s number, mapping them from the captured order data. You can customize the message to include the customer’s name and order number.

Map the customer’s name from the order data.
Map the order number similarly.

Click on Save and Send Test Request to verify the SMS functionality. You should receive a confirmation that the SMS has been sent successfully.
