1. Setting Up Pabbly Connect for Notifications

To automate WhatsApp notifications for absent students, you first need to access Pabbly Connect. Open a new tab and search for pabby.com/connect to reach the landing page. If you are new, sign up for a free account to get started with the automation without any cost.

Once you log into Pabbly Connect, navigate to the dashboard. Here, you can create a new workflow to manage notifications for absent students. Select the “Create Workflow” option and choose to create from scratch.

2. Creating a Workflow in Pabbly Connect

In this section, you will name your workflow for sending WhatsApp alerts. Enter a title like “Send WhatsApp Alerts to Absent Students Automatically” and select the appropriate folder for organization. Click the “Create” button to proceed.

  • Name your workflow appropriately.
  • Select a folder for better organization.
  • Click on the “Create” button to finalize the setup.

Now that your workflow is created, the next step is to set up the trigger. In Pabbly Connect, triggers initiate the workflow. You will select “Schedule by Pabbly” to automate the attendance checking process every day at noon.

3. Checking Attendance with Google Sheets

The next step involves integrating Google Sheets to check for student attendance. In the action step, select Google Sheets as your application and choose the event “Lookup Spreadsheet Row v2”. This will allow you to find students marked absent.

To set this up:

  • Connect your Google account to Pabbly Connect.
  • Select the spreadsheet that contains attendance records.
  • Specify the value to search for, which will be ‘A’ for absent students.

After these steps, your Google Sheets integration will be ready to extract the necessary data.
