1. Setting Up Pabbly Connect for Automation
To begin automating abandoned cart recovery, first, access Pabbly Connect. If you’re not a user yet, visit pabby.com/connect to sign up. Pabbly Connect is an all-in-one automation tool that integrates multiple applications seamlessly.
Once logged in, you will land on the Pabbly Connect dashboard. Click on the “+ Create Workflow” button to start a new automation. You can choose to create a workflow from scratch, using AI, or through the quick builder. For this tutorial, we will create from scratch.
2. Creating the Workflow in Pabbly Connect
After selecting to create from scratch, name your workflow. For this example, we will name it “Recover 10x More Abandoned Carts Auto Send Bulk Product Launch Updates”. You can customize the name based on your needs.
Next, select a folder for your workflow. You can create a new folder if needed. This step is crucial because it organizes your workflows and helps you manage them efficiently. Now, let’s set up the trigger for our automation.
- Click on the trigger application and select WooCommerce.
- Choose the event as “New Cart Abandonment”.
- Connect your WooCommerce account by copying the webhook URL provided.
This setup allows Pabbly Connect to listen for abandoned carts in your WooCommerce store, which is the first step in automating your recovery process.
3. Connecting WooCommerce with Pabbly Connect
Now, navigate to your WooCommerce account to establish the connection with Pabbly Connect. Enable the abandoned cart toggle and set the timeout duration for abandonment. For our case, we’ll set it to 10 minutes.
Next, find the webhook settings in WooCommerce and paste the copied URL from Pabbly Connect. After pasting, click on the “Trigger Sample” button to send a test response to Pabbly Connect. This step is essential to ensure that the connection is working correctly.
- Ensure that the response contains sample values such as product and customer information.
- This confirms that your WooCommerce store is successfully integrated with Pabbly Connect.
Once you receive a successful response, you can proceed to the next step in the workflow.
4. Adding a Delay Before Sending WhatsApp Messages
To avoid sending immediate messages after cart abandonment, we will add a delay using Pabbly Connect. This step allows customers a chance to return and complete their purchase before receiving a reminder.
Select “Delay by Pabbly” as the next application in your workflow. Set the delay duration to 1 hour. This means that after a cart is abandoned, the workflow will pause for one hour before proceeding to send a WhatsApp message.
- Choose the delay unit as hours.
- Click on “Save and Send Request” to confirm the delay.
With this delay in place, you ensure that your customers have a moment to reconsider their purchase before receiving a reminder.
5. Sending WhatsApp Messages Using Pabbly Chatflow
For the final step, we will use Pabbly Chatflow to send WhatsApp messages to customers. Select Pabbly Chatflow as the next application and choose the event “Send Text Message”.
To connect your Pabbly Chatflow account, you will need an API token. Navigate to the settings in Pabbly Chatflow to find your token. Copy and paste it into the connection field in Pabbly Connect.
- Map the WhatsApp mobile number field with the customer’s contact number from the previous response.
- Craft a dynamic message that includes product details and a checkout link.
After sending a test message, verify that it reaches the intended recipient. This confirms that your workflow is functioning as expected. You will see a success message indicating the message was sent successfully.
Conclusion
In this tutorial, we explored how to automate abandoned cart recovery using Pabbly Connect and WhatsApp. By integrating WooCommerce with Pabbly Connect, we created a seamless workflow that sends reminders to customers, encouraging them to complete their purchases.
